What can I do in BayesLab?

Build discrete Bayesian networks and influence diagrams, edit probability and utility tables, set evidence, and inspect updated probabilities. You can also compare evidence scenarios and explore expected utility for fixed decision choices.

Do students need to install anything?

No. The editor runs in a web browser and can be opened without an account. Students can start with a built-in example or create a network from scratch.

Where are models saved?

The current session is autosaved in the browser on that device. Download a .bayes project file to keep a portable copy. Share links contain a copy of the model; they are not live collaboration links. There is no cloud account storage.

Is BayesLab ready for a university pilot?

BayesLab is an early-stage teaching tool available for evaluation. We are seeking feedback from educators on usability, explanations, and classroom fit. Please validate models and results before using them for assessment or consequential decisions.

Can I use it for my whole course?

Start by exploring the app with a representative lesson or exercise. A pilot is a chance to discuss your course requirements and identify what is needed before a wider rollout. LMS integration, institutional accounts, and collaborative editing are not currently included.
